Community Space Challenge The Spaces
In 2006, groups working with young people were invited to submit their ideas for an environmental project. The 70 best initiatives were then picked to receive funding to bring the ideas to life.

Walk way to St Mary's Stadium
Young people were involved in the planning, organisation and execution of an extensive artwork mural to brighten up a formerly dull walkway. Young people consulted local people, worked with artists to create the design and then helped with the painting work itself. It is pleasing to know that after two years of being passed by so many people, including thousands of away fans the work remains unspoilt by tags. It really goes to show how high quality work is appreciated.
